Arm Lifts in Sugar Land
Improving the Tone and Shape In Your Arms
As we age, the skin on all parts of the body loses firmness and elasticity. This results in lines, wrinkles, and sagging, especially on the arms. In this area, loose skin can hang inches away from the muscle and bone creating an embarrassing cosmetic situation. An arm lift can address this problem by tightening and lifting the loose skin on the upper arms. The objective is to restore a firmer, younger contour by correcting some of the familiar effects of aging, such as “bat wings” that occur when skin, fat, and muscle tissue in the upper arms thins.
If you think you may benefit from an arm lift, call us at (281) 815-2277 today.
Is an Arm Lift Right for You?
Many people assume an arm lift is only relevant for people who have lost a significant amount of weight, but thinning tissue affects us all to some degree. An arm lift can be advantageous for any person who has significantly loose skin and fat on this part of the body. The best candidates are at a stable and healthy weight and do not smoke. It’s also important to understand the details of the surgery, including the scars that will result from incisions. Dr. Kutty conducts a thorough consultation during which all aspects of the arm lift are discussed, as we want to ensure that each patient is well-informed and confident in their choice to have plastic surgery.
The Benefits of an Arm Lift
An arm lift can be beneficial if you have excess skin or fat around the arms. Here are just a few of the benefits you can look forward to post-operation:
- More clothing options
- Toned and contoured shape
- Improved results when working out
- Improved appearance and self-confidence
The Recovery Process
Patients must be driven home by a friend or loved one after the procedure is completed. We release the patient once they regain alertness after anesthesia. We recommend having someone stay overnight to assist with getting settled and staying comfortable during the initial stage of recovery. While swelling and bruising are common side effects of arm lift surgery, patients can expect to see an immediate improvement in contours. Approximately 10 days after surgery, a follow-up is conducted and stitches are removed. After this visit, patients can usually expect a full recovery about 6 weeks after surgery. At that time, swelling and bruising should also be fully subsided.
