Gyms see a rise in new memberships every January, but many men and women fall short of their goals despite working diligently to shed weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle. There are pockets of stubborn fat that don’t respond to cardio or lifting weights, and there’s little you can do to stop the impact aging has on your skin. Our board-certified plastic surgeon in Sugar Land can help you reach your cosmetic goals for your face and body in a variety of ways.

1. Facelifts and Neck lifts

The first cosmetic signs of aging often show in the face and neck, which can happen as early as your mid-20s. That’s because your body starts creating less collagen and elastin—two of the proteins responsible for youthful skin. Your skin begins to lose collagen levels at a rate of about one to two percent every year. That makes maintaining taut, healthy skin difficult. A facelift can combat these changes and improve facial appearance, minimizing wrinkles and restoring volume.

The neck area is another part of your appearance that ages quickly. You’ll start to notice your neck looking fuller or mild skin sagging that worsens over time. That’s because your neck has little laxity to begin with and “turkey neck” often settles in despite thorough skin care. A neck lift is a popular procedure at our plastic surgery office. It can tighten the underlying muscles beneath your skin on your neck and sculpt a sharper jawline. Sometimes, a neck lift involves liposuction, especially for those who have banding around their neck and significant fat around the jowls.

Facial plastic surgeries such as the facelift and neck lift can be combined with other procedures such as cheek implants or eyelid surgery to transform your complexion. Injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic can also address lines and wrinkles, and a dermal filler can restore facial volume temporarily.

2. Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation process at Luxe Plastic Surgery in Sugar Land Lip enhancement can treat thin lips that may have lost mass due to getting older or simply be genetics. It’s natural for all areas of your skin to thin throughout the aging process. Our plastic surgeon, Dr. Kutty, offers two options for lip augmentation:

  • Lip implants: Soft-to-the-touch lip implants are a permanent way to add volume and improve the shape and structure of your lips. At Luxe Plastic Surgery in Sugar Land, we use the PermaSil implant which is made of silicone similar to breast implants and placed using an injection, then molded to create a plump, natural contour. This type of implant doesn’t rupture and can be removed if you’re unsatisfied with your results.
  • Dermal Filler Lip Enhancement: A nonsurgical way to improve the shape and fullness of your lips is to use dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® and BELOTERO BALANCE®. The results are long-lasting but not permanent.

3. Body Contouring with Liposuction

Lipo can remove unwanted fat from a variety of areas including the face and neck, but the most common parts seem to be the “love handles,” abdomen, thighs, and upper arms. It’s often used for men who struggle with gynecomastia for male breast reduction as well. It’s essential to maintain a healthy diet and exercise schedule to get as close to your goal weight as possible, so liposuction can get rid of the fat pockets that don’t respond to diet and exercise.

Liposuction is not the answer to weight loss and candidates should be in good overall health. This plastic surgery can give you the figure you’ve been working toward but also reverse some signs of aging in certain areas, particularly the thighs where fat settles in over time.

4. Butt Augmentation (Brazilian Butt Lift)

Woman shows results from buttock augmentation in Sugar Land. There are several options for buttock augmentation, but Dr. Kutty prefers fat transfer as it’s considered the most reliable and safe choice for butt enhancement. He avoids buttock implants due to the risk of infection and chance of asymmetrical results. The butt lift can address sagging but doesn’t increase volume, and injected substances shouldn’t be used for butt augmentation because you’re introducing different materials into your body which also increases infection risks. Dr. Kutty has cared for many patients who experienced infection and other adverse side effects from silicone injections.

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat transfer procedure. It’s also the safest and most effective treatment for buttock augmentation. This plastic surgery uses your own fat cells—which are removed from another area of your body, giving you the added benefits of liposuction in a stubborn area of unwanted fat—to increase the size and shape of your buttocks. There’s not a foreign object or material introduced into your body, so you don’t have to worry about those complications.

5. Breast Surgery

Breast augmentation is just one type of breast surgery. Breast reduction, breast lift, and breast reconstruction are other breast procedures that can accomplish your aesthetic goals. While some women wish for bigger, shapelier breasts, others struggle with symptoms of macromastia (large breasts) and want to reduce the size to alleviate pain and provide a proportionate figure. Breast augmentation can be performed with silicone or saline breast implants but also the fat transfer method discussed in the section above.
